Gina Winstead

Vice President, Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh IDEA
she/her/they/them

Gina Winstead likes to disrupt systems and build creative solutions that advance education, leadership, deal flow, and access to diverse networks. That continues to be her driving force as the inaugural Vice President for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) at Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. In their role at Carnegie Museums, they are leading many new initiatives to create a culture of belonging for LGBTQIA+ employees at museums and beyond. Winstead was previously the Vice President of Membership Development & External Relations of Vibrant Pittsburgh, an economic development nonprofit working to increase local workplace diversity, and inclusion. A strong advocate for tech equity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, Winstead also served as the first-ever Director of Diversity & Inclusion at the Pittsburgh Technology Council. She is currently the Vice President of Women in Tech PGH.

Councilperson – Carlow University’s Advisory Council for the College of Arts and Sciences

A native of the Pittsburgh region (McKeesport), they hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and Gina is a graduate of the EDGE Leadership program and Carnegie Mellon University’s Executive Leadership & Negotiation Academy. She was named as a Technical.ly Real List Connector in 2023, New Pittsburgh Courier Fab40 honoree in 2022 and as Pittsburgh’s 40 Under 40 in 2020 by Pittsburgh Magazine and PUMP.
